Terms and Conditions
Last updated: July 2026
1. About these terms
These terms and conditions apply to all services provided by SEO Sunderland to our clients. By engaging our services, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these terms. If you have any questions before signing up, please contact us at info@seo-sunderland.uk.
“We”, “us”, and “our” refers to SEO Sunderland. “You” and “client” refers to the business or individual engaging our services.
2. Services we provide
We provide digital marketing services including, but not limited to:
- Local search engine optimisation (Local SEO)
- Generative Engine Optimisation and AI Search Optimisation (GEO/AEO)
- Google Business Profile management and optimisation
- Technical SEO audits and implementation
- Content marketing and keyword-targeted content creation
- Link building and digital PR
The specific services, deliverables, and timelines for each engagement are agreed in a separate proposal or service agreement document provided before work begins.
3. Starting work
Work begins once we have received:
- Written confirmation (email is acceptable) that you wish to proceed
- Any access credentials or information required to carry out the agreed work
- Payment of the first month’s retainer, where applicable
A free audit, if offered, is provided without obligation and does not constitute the start of a paid engagement.
4. Fees and payment
Monthly retainer fees are invoiced at the start of each calendar month and are due within 14 days of the invoice date. One-off project fees are invoiced as agreed — typically 50% on commencement and 50% on completion. Late payments may be subject to interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. We reserve the right to pause work if invoices remain unpaid beyond 14 days without prior agreement.
5. Cancellation and notice
Either party may end a rolling monthly engagement by giving 30 days’ written notice. Work in progress at the time of cancellation will be completed to a reasonable stopping point, and the final invoice will reflect only work carried out during the notice period. We do not offer refunds on fees already invoiced and paid.
6. No guarantees of ranking
Search engine rankings are determined by Google and other third-party platforms over which we have no direct control. We apply proven, ethical, and compliant methods to improve your visibility, but we make no guarantee of specific ranking positions, traffic volumes, or leads generated. Any projections we provide are estimates based on experience and are not contractually binding.
7. What you agree to provide
To deliver results, we may need certain things from you. By engaging our services you agree to:
- Provide timely access to your website, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Google Business Profile as needed
- Review and approve content within 5 working days of delivery (or let us know if more time is needed)
- Notify us of any significant changes to your business, services, or website that might affect the campaign
- Ensure that all information you provide to us is accurate and lawfully obtained
8. Intellectual property
Content, reports, and materials created by us on your behalf become your property once all outstanding invoices are settled in full. Strategy documents, templates, and proprietary processes remain the intellectual property of SEO Sunderland. We retain the right to reference your business as a client for portfolio and case study purposes unless you request otherwise in writing.
9. Confidentiality
We treat all information you share with us — including business data, credentials, and commercial information — as strictly confidential. We will not disclose it to third parties except where required to deliver the agreed services (e.g., sharing access with a member of our team). We expect the same in return: any proprietary methods, pricing, or strategy documents we share with you should be treated as confidential.
10. Limitation of liability
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees paid in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably will be referred to the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify active clients of any material changes before they take effect. Continued use of our services after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Contact
If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us at info@seo-sunderland.uk or by calling 0191 666 0324. We’re happy to talk through anything before you commit.
